AN INDECENT INVITATION
Release Date: August 25th, 2015
Samhain Publishing

Keeping her safe is difficult, keeping a proper distance from her is downright impossible.

Lady Lily Drummond understands only too well the danger of spy work. Her father, a preeminent master spy, has been missing for months, and her brother barely survived his final mission for the Crown. Lily is still determined to help find her father, no matter how hard her brother and his best friend try to keep her in the dark.

Busy trying to untangle the web of deceit surrounding the Earl of Windor’s disappearance, Crown spy Gray Masterson also has to ensure Lily Drummond, the gangly, awkward child who was his constant shadow growing up, doesn’t get herself ruined at her London debut. But the girl with scraped knees and elbows has evolved into a lush, sensual beauty surrounded by a bevy of suitors.

Realizing Lily is going to investigate on her own if he doesn’t let her join the hunt for her missing father, Gray assumes he can give Lily a few minor tasks to pacify her, but he quickly learns she is a valuable asset. Moreover, she fairly crackles with life and warmth—things he craves after his dark years in service.

Warning: This book contains spies, scandals, naughty liaisons in houses of ill repute, men who think they know everything and women who know they do not.

"Witty, compelling, and sensuous, Laura Trentham's is a fabulous new voice in historical romance." -- Valerie Bowman, bestselling Regency romance author

So I haven't exactly been keeping this a secret...I put it up on my main page last week when AN INDECENT INVITATION went on pre-order, but I haven't yelled it from the mountain tops yet. And, it deserves a shout-out! Not only because it's a gorgeous cover (and wait to you see the one for A BRAZEN BARGAIN *swoon*), but because AN INDECENT INVITATION is the first book I ever wrote AND it was a 2014 Golden Heart
® finaling manuscript as Wicked Things! I'd like to say it got me my start in publishing, but it was initially rejected by my fabulous agent, Kevan Lyon. (*insert lesson for other writers* Always be working on your next project so you have something else to offer up...A BRAZEN BARGAIN got me an offer of representation.)

And, it was rightly rejected. It wasn't good enough. So, I re-wrote it and made it great:) And, that's why Lily and Gray will always be special....They taught me how to write. Plus, I've basically been "living" with them for going on four and half years. It was bittersweet to turn in my final copy-edits knowing their story was done (mostly anyway...I do I have a followup in mind if I ever have a chance to write it.)

Most of you might think of me as a Southern contemporary romance author at this point. And, I LOVE writing the Falcon Football books and the Summer Crossroads books (coming Summer 2016 *insert shameless plug*:), however I cut my teeth on the glorious historical romances of the 1990s, and when I decided to try to write a book, I naturally gravitated toward Regency England. These are a bit lighter than my Southern contemporaries with a strong suspense thread running through them. Basically, they are a ton of fun--and even sexier than my contemporaries (sex in a carriage anyone?), so grab a fan!

Add to Goodreads List or Preorder the ebook at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or read an excerpt at Samhain Publishing.

PS. I've been asked about the paperback version...It will go on preorder approximately July 26th.

Gorgeous cover, Laura! And the book sounds like a lot of fun. Especially love your tagline and the end portion: "...men who think they know everything, and women who know they don't." :)
